More style and biodiversity in the garden

Handmade garden pottery

About Ceramics for Nature

I'm Chantal Kolleman, ceramist and founder of Ceramics for Nature. In my studio, I design and create handmade garden ceramics for people who want to green and enrich their garden or balcony. My mission is simple yet important: support biodiversity in your garden or balcony in style.

I believe that biodiversity starts close to home. In the place where you live, relax, and reside. That's why I make ceramics that are not only beautiful to look at but also truly add something for birds, insects, and other small garden inhabitants. Each design originates from knowledge of the natural behaviour of animals and is carefully shaped on the potter's wheel.

All products are handmade by me in the Netherlands, in small batches and with sustainable materials. No mass production, but time, craftsmanship, and love for the craft. This way, each object gets its own character and a clear function in the garden.

With Ceramics for Nature, I want to show that supporting nature doesn't have to conflict with aesthetics. You can make conscious choices without sacrificing atmosphere or style. Creating beautiful things that are good for nature – that's what I happily work on every day.

Collector's item

Ladybug pot

Do you want to naturally combat aphids while also beautifying your garden? Our handcrafted hanging ladybug house offers a safe and dry shelter for ladybugs, which can eat up to 800 aphids per day. This pot is also attractive to earwigs, which also help reduce aphid populations. Fill the pot with straw or dry leaves and hang it on a wall near plants susceptible to aphids, such as roses or vegetable garden plants. Thanks to its frost-resistant design, the pot can remain outdoors all year round. Available in grey, brown, cream, and terracotta, so you can choose a variant that perfectly matches your garden.

Specifications:
✔ Height: 15 cm
✔ Diameter: 10 cm

Placement tips:
Hang the ladybug house in a sunny spot on a wall, close to plants that are often affected by aphids. Fill the pot with straw or dry leaves to create an attractive shelter. The pot is frost-resistant and can therefore remain outdoors all year round.
