Nieuw leven in de tuin: zo help je de natuur in de lente

New life in the garden: how to help nature in spring

Mar 01, 2026Chantal Kolleman

Spring is the season of new beginnings. The days get longer, the sun regains its strength, and nature comes alive all around us. Birds look for nesting places, insects become active, and the garden slowly transforms into a vibrant meeting place.

Especially during this period, you can make a big difference for biodiversity with small interventions. A sheltered nesting place, some peace in the garden, and natural materials already make a big impact.

At Ceramics for Nature, we design nesting pots that align with the natural behaviour of birds. They are handmade from ceramics and offer protection against rain, wind, and temperature fluctuations. Not conspicuous objects, but calm shapes that blend into the garden and are naturally found by birds.

Spring tips for a living garden:

  • Hang nesting pots early (February–March is ideal)

  • Choose a quiet spot, out of direct sunlight

  • Leave leaves and twigs as nesting material

Spring doesn't call for perfection, but for space. Space for growth, for sound, for life.
